The Automotive Technology AAS degree prepares people to use technical knowledge and skills to repair, service, and preserve all kinds of vehicles and . Through classroom direction and hands-on training, you will learn how to detect, service and repair brake systems, electrical systems, engine performance, engine repair, suspension and steering, automated and manual transmissions and drive trains, and heating and air condition systems.
Graduates of this pathway will be required to take professional licensure tests, which represent particular programs of study, and to go into professions as entry-level technicians in the transport market.
Students who finish the Automotive Technology AAS degree are midway to making a bachelor’ degree in Automotive Technology at SIUC. The trainees will have earned 55 of the 129 term hours of credit required for the degree.
